Time: 8pm CST? I would say that would be good for everyone and it's not too late for the east coasters and not too early for the west coasters since it would be 6pm on the pacific coast.
I would say if you want to be in charge of creating the Achievements and all of that I would be all up for that. The achievement idea is a great idea and I was not trying to degrade it in any way. I was just saying that the point of two people posting seemed a bit much. I say we put it up for a guild vote and see what people want. If it passes, let's do it. As for all talk, I have spoken my peace about a TS/Vent and I understand that having all talk on ruins the experience. But I have always loved TS/Vent for the specific reason that admins can set specific binds to broadcast to a specific player or channel. Also, I know all about teamwork and sportsmanship. I have led raids in vanilla World of Warcraft and Rift. I understand the challenges that come with playing in certain environments. It can be a complicated process to get players ready, buffed, coordinated, and keep things moving along if I didn't have the right tools. My guild was raiding in Molten Core and Black Wing Layer before we broke up. I had to memorize all of the fights in case whatever mod my guild was using for alerting players of what was coming failed and I had to lead the old fashion way.
Anyways, as for the weapons. I would say the people that are coming to scrims need to have a discussion about what weapons we want. I would like to point out that every weapon in DOD has its ups and downs. A K98'er has a weak spot during the bolt action. Dodge the k98 shot and use that time to kill the person and never stand still. It's often the skill of the players and their ability to execute properly that matters the most in this situation. I can still kill Heidi when she's hopping around like crazy person. I often fail in the execution. Also, In a 5v5 or 10v10 situation if one team is full of people that don't coordinate and the other team is full of skilled people(or half a brain for that matter), the team that doesn't coordinate and communicate with each other will probably lose because they don't know what's going on and are not executing properly. I could honestly go on and on about this but my point here is that a scrim will most likely be decided on the skill of the players and their leadership. Limiting to a certain set of weapons seems to ruin the challenge of the scrim if you ask me.
All in All, I think we are at the point where I think the guild needs to vote on these two points. Foshey, you and I could argue back and forth about this for the next three weeks and we would probably never get anywhere. We need to put this up to a guild vote.
Peace,
Matt
