I am researching the problem with maps crashing and members and regs having trouble logging into server or having error problems. If anyone has these problems, post up here and we'll see if we can get it straighten out. I believe a steam update may be the culprit. Some folks on different forums, believe that the update was such to make everyone move to the source engine. If you google fps drop and errors after steam update, you can read about allot of folks having this same problem with their servers and themselves (client side). Here is one suggestion below which may help some of you. I will keep researching this problem and post my findings here.

Game Cache File (GCF) fragmentation may result in increased load times and sound skipping or stuttering - to ensure your Game Cache Files (GCF's) are stored contiguously, please observe the following process:
From the Library, right-click on the game you would like to defragment and select Properties
In the Properties window select the Local Files tab
Click the Defragment cache files button
Once the defragmentation process has completed, you will be presented with a report detailing the extent of fragmentation
Also try this first if you have not yet.
Simply deleting steam/ClientRegistry.blob and a steam restart fixes some problems. Go to programs-steam-steamapps-your name-dod-client registry.blob, right click and delete, restart steam and it will update the client registry.blob
If you have had a fps drop in game, try using this in console.
fps_override 1 can get rid of 100 fps limit
Try going here and tweaking some of your client rates etc.
